Development Director
Salary: $27,500 – 32,500 plus health and dental benefits

Description
Air Alliance Houston, the Houston region’s leading health and clean air environmental advocacy non-profit, is hiring a full-time Development Director to manage stewardship of current donors and increase the organization’s donor base through direct appeals, fundraising events and other means.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donor prospects
• Provide the inspiration and drive to achieve ambitious fundraising goals and creative projects
• Rebuild relationships with lapsed donors and grow and maintain a pool of major prospects
• Engage board of directors, staff, and partners in donor cultivation and solicitation
• Facilitate, manage and track donor information in SalesForce client relationship management software and ensure that accounting software is kept in sync with SalesForce
• Update electronic files with solicitation status and correspondences
• Regularly report development progress and results to board of directors and Executive Director
• Prepare, in coordination with the Treasurer and Executive Director, the annual development office budget
• Coordinate production of promotional campaign materials with staff and board
• Lead development and execution of annual fundraising events and other opportunities to interact in person with current and prospective donors
• With the board of directors and Executive Director, participate in planning of long range fundraising

Qualification Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree or five-plus years of relevant work experience is required. Two to three years work in the non-profit sector is highly desired.

Communication skills are a must. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively in person and via written correspondence. The successful candidate must also have research experience and be highly detail-oriented and capable of handling and inputting critical data into multiple platforms. Event planning or coordination experience will also be highly desired.

The successful candidate must have proficiency with Microsoft programs, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher. Some web-design/content management experience and accounting experience will also be highly favorable.
